Is right here in Missoula, Montana. Take a look
out your window!!!
Think about it. For THREE times now in ONE
decade, we have seen thick smoke/smog from forest
fires in the Missoula Valley
This summer, I hear it is smoky all the way out to Great
Falls.
In Missoula hese "smoke bowls" last for WEEKS on end, as it
doesn't RAIN here anymore in the summer. Noticed how during the
last 10 years, we don't have Montana's famous cool summers any more?
We have ARIZONA-STYLE summers instead.
Like everywhere else in the West, a PERMANENT DROUGHT has
set in which has turned forests everywhere into so much
tinder. (And it has only been showing itself in earnest, since the summer
of 2000!)
In Missoula, the above mentioned "smoke bowls" happened maybe
once every 500 years in the past, and now we get them every other
summer. Coincidence? I think not.
This is Missoula's swan song, I'm afraid. Another 30 years of
this, and we will look like certain mountainous areas in the
Middle East... bare rock mountains, sand dunes in the valleys,
and year-round heat.
And the Jesus-head/carbon conservatives say that global warming is a myth.
(Excuse me while I go puke.)

I don't know anyone who doesn't think the earth isn't warming....so is Mars.

Libs say it's all our fault and we must tax and tax some more to correct the problem.. I personally don't think it's my SUV's fault. I also remember the 70's when the Libs said the earth is cooling....or that the oceans would be dead by the 80's.

I was talking to a retired logger last year and I asked him why do we have more fires in the last few years and he said one reason is there aren't loggers in the mountains any more.
In the past he said when there was a lightening strike he would send a crew over and put it out.
So maybe it's the tree huggers fault that we have smoke in the valleys. We should tax them.

Bronco88,
Here's a little scenario: YOU eating dinner,
25 years from now.
I can just see you making those same claims,
getting all red in the face and so flustered at those
"liberals" that you try to talk while you're chewing your
Soylent Green and end up spitting little chunks of it
all the way across the table.
Unless you end up choking on it instead. (Would
that be much of a loss though..?)

Texas is getting cooler than expected weather…so your analysis of local above normal temps are politically motivated.

Remember that climatic conditions are never static; the environment in the world has always been variable over the centuries.

The heating or cooling of the Earth's surface can cause changes in greenhouse gas concentrations. For example, when global temperatures become warmer, carbon dioxide is released from the oceans. When changes in the Earth's orbit trigger a warm (or interglacial) period, increasing concentrations of carbon dioxide may amplify the warming by enhancing the greenhouse effect. When temperatures become cooler, CO2 enters the ocean and contributes to additional cooling. During at least the last 650,000 years, CO2 levels have tended to track the glacial cycles: during warm interglacial periods, CO2 levels have been high and during cool glacial periods, CO2 levels have been low.

Where did all those glaciers go after they carved up the landscape?

What warmed Europe after the Little Ice Age?

What cooled Greenland and froze out the Viking farmers?

Why, capitalism of course.

Face it, jimmuh. The only constant about the weather is change. There is no such thing as "normal" rainfall or "normal" temperatures or "record" rainfall or "record" temperatures. There are only the 125-year mathematical averages since written numbers have been kept.

You are so easily deluded by idiot weather forecasters and atheistic theology, neither of which is a good sign. Weather forecasters can't predict the next few days, much less the next century. And atheistic theology is as changeable as the nazis in black robes that declare policy or the next documentary film-maker who makes you feel even more guilty about living life.
